
Last evening, a severe collision on Bangerter Highway and 4100 South resulted in multiple vehicles being impacted and one fatality. The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:06 PM, involved a Hyundai Tucson that was reportedly driving erratically at high speeds before crashing into six other vehicles waiting at a traffic light, as reported by the Utah Department of Public Safety.
Following the collision, the Hyundai caught fire, and in a display of quick action, a driver from one of the other vehicles involved managed to pull the sole occupant, the driver, out of the burning vehicle. Despite being transported to the hospital in critical condition, the driver, whose identity has not been released, did not survive the injuries sustained in the crash.
Additionally, the driver of a Toyota Highlander was trapped and required extrication by emergency services. This individual was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. All other individuals caught up in the crash were evaluated on the scene and did not require hospitalization.
