
A tragic traffic collision in San Marcos has left one woman dead and another injured. Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station were called to the scene of an accident yesterday afternoon on San Elijo Road, which involved a gray Honda CR-V and a white Nissan Sentra.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's report, the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. It appears that the driver of the Nissan Sentra, while traveling westbound, lost control, veered over the center median, and entered the lane of oncoming traffic, leading to the collision with the Honda CR-V. The woman operating the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, a woman from the Honda, was rushed to a hospital for her injuries and is said to be cooperating with the investigation efforts.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. Officials at the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit are currently investigating the specifics of the incident.
