Tensions escalated into violence following a road rage incident in Palo Alto, where a man resorted to using a BB gun against another driver. The altercation took place on the 700 block of San Antonio Road last Friday, with the police making an arrest that same evening. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Misael Enrique Zamora, allegedly attacked the victim's car, leading to a shattered rear window. According to the City of Palo Alto, Zamora was later apprehended at his residence.
The incident reportedly began when the victim, a man in his thirties, was driving on 101 South. Zamora apparently began to pursue and signal him using his vehicle's lights aggressively. After exiting the freeway and while stopped at the intersection of San Antonio Road and Middlefield Road, the confrontation escalated rapidly. The victim heard a pop, synonymous with the breaking of his vehicle's rear window. According to the Palo Alto Police Department, the victim recalled hearing the ominous sound, followed immediately by the shattering of glass.
Responding officers swiftly followed up on the call that came in around 6:40 PM, with their investigation leading them to Zamora. A BB gun was found inside his vehicle, and he was booked on charges of discharging a firearm in a negligent manner and vandalism, detailed as felonies. The Palo Alto Police have released Zamora's booking photograph, hoping that additional witnesses may come forward.
