Park City Municipal Corporation has wrapped up its financial introspection for the year, releasing the findings just as many are winding down for holiday cheer. In a public notice posted to the city's official website, Mindy Finlinson, CPA and Finance Director for the city, announced the completion of the annual audit for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, the detailed insights of which were ready to go under the microscope at the City Council meeting on Thursday, December 18, according to Park City.
For residents with a keen interest in where their tax dollars are flowing, or simply the fiscally inquisitive, the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report has been made readily available: One can either swivel a chair at the Finance Department, situated at 445 Marsac Avenue, during those unforgiving regular business hours, or just as easily with a few clicks on the City’s website at parkcity.gov.
This ritual of financial transparency is more than an act of bureaucratic disclosure; it’s a nod to the accountability that public institutions owe their constituents, and while the dense pages of a financial report might induce more yawns than yuletide spirit so close to the holidays, they are indeed a cornerstone of a well-functioning civic body.
