A few weeks ago, St. Ferdinand Pond was restocked with fish. According to a social media post from the department, the delay in sharing this news allowed the new fish time to adjust to their environment before fishing activities began.
The restocking included a variety of species to support a healthy and balanced pond ecosystem. Among the fish added were 175 Largemouth Bass, 350 Catfish, as well as various Sunfish and Bluegill. Feeder minnows were also introduced to help provide food for the larger fish.
Residents and visitors are now able to enjoy fishing at St. Ferdinand Pond. The restocking helps maintain the pond’s fish population and provides opportunities for recreational fishing in the area. Those interested in fishing can check local guidelines to ensure a safe and responsible experience.
