Palm Beach County officials have taken Pedro Rodriguez into custody in relation to a home invasion at the residence of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine. During the incident, the rapper's mother was held hostage, and items estimated at over $25,000, including luxury bags and jewelry, were stolen. Rodriguez's phone data led investigators directly to his involvement at the crime scene, as reported by CBS12.
According to a statement obtained by WPBF 25 News, the investigation honed in on Rodriguez after accessing his cell phone records, which put him at the scene of the crime. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said that on November 16, three masked and armed men broke into the Palm Beach County home while Tekashi 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez, was not present. The assailants confronted and temporarily detained the rapper's 60-year-old mother during the robbery.
Details of the stolen items include Van Cleef earrings valued at $2,600, a diamond necklace worth $25,000, and designer purses including a Balenciaga and a Chanel purse, not amounting to $4,000, as detailed by 6ix9ine's girlfriend. Rodriguez faces charges including Residential Robbery with a firearm, Kidnapping, Grand Theft over $20,000, less than $100,000, and Selling a Schedule I Substance, following the execution of a search warrant at his home last Friday.
Law enforcement's search of Rodriguez's residence uncovered not just personal belongings linked to the home invasion but also a firearm and narcotics, indicating potential drug sales activity, per CBS12 reporting. He is currently detained at the Palm Beach County Jail. The two additional suspects, described as skinny and wearing black hooded sweatshirts, remain at large.
