Chaos descended on a quiet San Ramon neighborhood last night when a black Volkswagen Jetta containing four suspects rammed into undercover police vehicles, leading to a pursuit and the minor injury of a San Ramon police officer. According to KTVU, the incident unfolded near Ivy Hill Road shortly after 11 p.m., following a police surveillance operation targeting suspects linked to a series of vehicle thefts across the East Bay.

The collision occurred as the suspects tried to flee at what was described as "a high rate of speed," striking four unmarked police cars. The high-speed chaos reached its peak when the suspects' vehicle lost control, hitting a fire hydrant and sending water skywards.

The aftermath saw two of the suspects, Anthony Parsons, 24, of Oakley, and Rafael Gonzalez, 20, of Antioch, apprehended by police. They were booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, as CBS San Francisco reported. These charges for Parsons also included resisting arrest, unlawful taking of a vehicle, receiving stolen property, and possession of burglary tools, while Gonzalez faces similar accusations.

Authorities are still on the lookout for the two remaining suspects who managed to evade capture amidst the commotion. Police deployed aerial and K-9 units to establish a perimeter and comb the area, but as of Tuesday, the search yielded no further arrests. The injured officer, meanwhile, received treatment and has since been released from the hospital.
