On Tuesday afternoon, a 14-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder after an unidentified assailant opened fire from a vehicle on the 800 block of West 87th Street, as reported on WGN-TV. According to the police, the teen walked into a South Side hospital for treatment and is reportedly in fair condition.
With the echoes of gunfire on South Champlain Avenue, a 17-year-old was found unresponsive on Monday night by Chicago officers, who had responded to a shooting report around 8:14 p.m. A second victim, a 20-year-old man, was discovered nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back. According to FOX 32 Chicago, the teen was subsequently pronounced dead after being transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, with the Cook County medical examiner's office yet to release his identification. Meanwhile, the man was listed in critical condition at the same hospital.
