Hunters eager to participate in the 2026 Spring Turkey Quota Hunts in Tennessee can start marking their calendars for December 17. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) opens the application window through January 7, 2026, giving enthusiasts a chance to secure their spots for the spring season. According to an announcement on the TWRA website, applicants can use various channels to submit their applications, including online platforms and regional offices.
The TWRA's quota system operates through a computerized drawing, a fair opportunity for hunters to participate in one of Tennessee's loved outdoor traditions. The detailed application instructions and the list of available hunting areas are available on the Turkey Quota Hunt webpage for those planning to quickly submit their applications.
Hunters specifically interested in the youth-only hunts can look forward to five dedicated events, catering to the younger demographic aged 6-16. "No person may apply more than once," states the TWRA's announcement, ensuring a level playing field for everyone. Additionally, parties of up to five applicants can be submitted, allowing families or friends to plan their hunting trips together.
While an application fee is required, those possessing a valid Annual, Lifetime, or Senior Sportsman License will find themselves exempt, saving a bit on the upfront costs. As the spring turkey hunting season is set to run from April 11 to May 24, hunters who successfully get drawn for the quota hunts will need to prepare well ahead of time to make the most of their experience. The TWRA is dedicated not only to providing these hunting opportunities but also to ensuring the conservation and management of wildlife across the state for all to enjoy responsibly.
