The Elgin Police Department announced on social media that the junction of North State Street (Route 31) and Big Timber Road near Interstate 90 was shut down for a crash investigation, urging the public to find alternative routes, as reported by NBC Chicago. The accident occurred adjacent to the ramps leading to and from Interstate 90 and was proximate to Judson University.
