The entrance to Westview Drive will close for a culvert replacement meant to address ongoing flooding issues in the area. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and S & A Equipment & Builders, LLC will start work today. Local businesses will remain open, and Westview Drive is expected to reopen by Dec. 23, although some work will continue after that.
While MoDOT has their shovels ready, drivers will need to brace for detours and heed the call for cooperation. As MoDOT announced, "All work is weather-permitting and subject to change." The larger scope of the project includes a sizeable purse of $5,041,329.32 for route upgrades, notably installing a new roundabout and enlarging Route 52 to unclog travel arteries with a three-lane expansion.
