The Bartlett Police Department is offering a program for residents interested in learning more about law enforcement. The Citizens Police Academy is a seven-week course that provides an overview of the daily activities of police officers in Bartlett. A social media post states that the program covers various aspects of police work, including K9 operations and traffic stops.
The classes will be held on Thursday nights from March 5 to April 16, running from 6 to 9 p.m. Participants will meet at the Bartlett Police Station, located at 3730 Appling Road. Those interested in joining can apply at cityofbartlett.org/1186/Citizens-Police-Academy.
As part of the academy’s curriculum, participants will have hands-on experience with crime scene investigation and SWAT operations. The course also includes involvement in the analysis of a real case study. The program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive view of police procedures and operations.
Questions about the program can be directed to Mrs. Minch at [email protected]. The program provides Bartlett residents with an opportunity to learn more about community policing and the operations that support public safety.
