A bicyclist was struck and trapped under a vehicle on U.S. 1 in Jupiter. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue found the bicyclist at the scene and transported them to a hospital under trauma alert status. The incident occurred near North A1A and North U.S. 1, according to CBS12.
Firefighters were able to extricate the bicyclist, whose bicycle was also struck and rolled over, and stabilize them at the scene before they were airlifted to a hospital. The incident led to the closure of all northbound lanes on the U.S. 1 bridge during the rescue. As per WPBF, the roads were reopened yesterday afternoon, just after 2 p.m.
Jupiter town authorities confirmed the incident and the resulting road closures through an official announcement. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the scene at approximately 10:08 a.m. and carried out rescue efforts.
