In a recent development from Billerica, a local man is facing a stack of charges after police connected him to a theft at a car dealership. Michael Sansevero, 33, of Billerica has been charged with a laundry list of offenses, including firearm and larceny charges. In a statement made by the Billerica Police Department, the arrest came about following an investigation into a break-in that resulted in the theft of snowplow blades and mounts from a dealership on Dunham Road.
The burglary, which was reported to authorities on Monday, Dec. 29, spurred immediate action from the local police, their investigation also led to the recovery of a stolen work truck and trailer, found elsewhere in the actual town. As the case unfolded, video surveillance and other forms of evidence directed the investigators towards Sansevero and an accomplice, a second Billerica man aged 31. Law enforcement officials served search warrants at Sansevero's residence on Ox Road, and a vehicle associated with the other individual under suspicion.
Upon executing the search warrants last Thursday and Friday, officers discovered a stash including two stolen plow blades, various firearms, and illegal substances. More than $35,000 in stolen property was reportedly retrieved, alongside over $2,000 in cash. Notably, Sansevero was found hiding under a bed when police conducted their search, he was arrested sans further incident.
Sansevero's list of charges is extensive, encompassing breaking and entering, larceny over $1,200, malicious destruction of property, unlicensed possession of a firearm, and drug possession, among others. The suspect is scheduled for a court appearance Monday, in the Lowell District Court, in accordance with Chief Roy Frost's acknowledgment of the diligence displayed by both the patrol division and detectives, in what he describes as a "comprehensive and effective investigation," as reported by the Billerica Police Department.
The case is ongoing and additional charges may be in store for the 31-year-old alleged accomplice, whose name has yet to be disclosed. As with all legal proceedings, it's important to remember that these are merely allegations, and all defendants maintain the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise in court.
