According to a social media update from the department, the fire broke out at approximately 3:30 PM on the third floor of an occupied three-family home at 26 Wentworth Street in Dorchester, prompting an immediate call for a second and third alarm.

Efforts to extinguish the flames were successful, and in a fortunate turn, no injuries have been reported. However, the incident did displace seven residents—three adults, four children, along with one dog. The Boston Fire Department's update highlighted that the American Red Cross of Massachusetts has been engaged to "to help with housing" for those affected.
