Chilly winds and icy streets didn't stop Boston's finest and bravest from breaking a sweat for a good cause this weekend. The Boston Police Department participated in the 10th Annual Boston Bruins Foundation BFit Challenge, an event that gathered first responders and military personnel to engage in some healthy competition while also raising funds for their comrades in need.
Despite the winter's bite, the BFit Challenge went on as scheduled, seeing members of the Boston Police Department, along with other first responders and military teams, tackle the physical feats laid out before them. The department took pride in its representation at the event, where the proceeds are directed toward charities benefiting those who respond first and serve foremost. As reported by the Boston PD's newsroom, Commissioner Cox was on hand to support his officers and civilians, "pleased to again support all of our officers and civilians who took part in this year’s BFit Challenge."
Acknowledging the undeterred spirit of the participants, the Boston PD's announcement shared, "We applaud all of the sworn first responder, military personnel, civilians and family members who took part in this inspiring event."
