Professional boxer Gervonta "Tank" Davis is currently being sought by Miami Gardens Police for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident that took place last year. The incident occurred on October 27 in a gentlemen's club in Miami Gardens, where the unnamed woman was employed, according to NBC Miami.
Police detailed that Davis supposedly grasped the woman by the back of her head and choked her as he dragged her to a parking garage. After releasing her, the woman sought help from coworkers and was later found to have suffered bruises on her left arm. Witnesses and surveillance video appear to confirm the victim's claims, further escalating the case against the 31-year-old boxer.
The authorities, collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, have issued an arrest warrant for Davis on charges that encompass battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping, of which details were obtained by TMZ. The report indicates that Davis had been involved in an intimate relationship with the woman since around 2022, but the relationship had ended a month prior to the alleged assault.
This incident isn't Davis's first encounter with legal troubles related to domestic violence. He was accused in July of the previous year of hitting the mother of his children, and had a separate case in Broward County in 2022, Davis has faced multiple charges in the past, including an incident in 2020 where he allegedly beat his girlfriend in Coral Gables, though those charges were dropped. The case continues to develop as law enforcement seeks to locate, and apprehend the athlete.
In the wake of the allegations, Gervonta Davis's career has also been impacted with a scheduled fight against Jake Paul in November 2025 getting canceled by Most Valuable Promotions after the incident was reported, as per TMZ. As of now, Davis himself has not issued any comments regarding the accusations against him.
