
Chula Vista is grappling with the aftermath of a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of an elderly woman. According to a recent press release from the Chula Vista Police Department, the incident occurred on Sunday at around 5:27 PM near North Greensview Drive and Park Meadows Road. A female pedestrian was reportedly struck by a vehicle and was found with significant injuries.
Despite efforts from passersby who called for help, the driver involved in the collision fled the scene before authorities arrived. The Chula Vista Fire Department, along with the police, rendered lifesaving aid to the victim. Unfortunately, the woman, believed to be an Asian female in her 70s, was later pronounced dead at a local hospital due to the injuries sustained from the impact, as stated in a public document released by the Chula Vista Police Department.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, as officials are still working to notify next of kin. Currently, no information is available regarding the suspect or the vehicle involved in this hit-and-run incident.
