
The Chula Vista Police Department has issued an update on a shooting incident that took place late last month, leading to the death of a 31-year-old man. According to a press release distributed via email, the incident occurred last Sunday at approximately 1:40 AM near a local bar located at 656 E Street in Chula Vista.
Officers, responding to a 9-1-1 call, found the victim, Pablo Hernandez, Jr., suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving measures and transport to a hospital, Hernandez succumbed to his injuries last Thursday. The initial investigation, noted as an attempted homicide, has since been reclassified as a homicide following Hernandez's death.
As the investigation continues, detectives are making efforts to locate witnesses who may have observed the shooting or events leading up to it. The Chula Vista Police Department has not identified a motive for the shooting and is appealing to the public for any information.
