In a significant expansion of the healthtech industry in the East Valley, Columbus, Ohio-based startup Gifthealth has opened a new pharmacy in Mesa, promising to create 200 new jobs, according to an announcement verified by ABC15 News. This innovative facility, sprawling over 43,000 square feet, is situated at 4008 S. Signal Butte Road within the expansive Superstition Commerce Park.
Originally developed by Dalfen Industrial, after purchasing the land from Brookfield Residential in 2022 for a hefty $36.2 million as reported in Maricopa County records, the six-building, 970,643-square-foot commerce park now houses the cutting-edge pharmacy while located a stone’s throw away from Apple’s Global Operations Center. The new Gifthealth pharmacy stands out by boasting a system that utilizes robotic assistance for processing an ambitious number of over 28,000 medications daily, KTAR News detailed in a recent report.
The latest expansion could be a boon for local employment, filling a critical gap in Arizona's burgeoning tech and health sectors. Understanding the potential impacts, the new pharmacy operation arrives not just as a mere facility but stands representative of the merging lanes between health services and advanced tech.
Enhancing its service array, Gifthealth has also formed a strategic partnership with UPS, bringing to the table new RFID scanning and twin packaging technology to enhance delivery times—the company promises that this collaboration will improve order tracking capabilities and streamline the delivery process for patient medications, according to a company announcement highlighted by KTAR News.
