A road rage incident in Cutler Bay resulted in the arrest of a local man, authorities report. Wilder Hernandez, 47, is accused of physically assaulting another driver during a confrontation on Monday morning. According to NBC Miami, the incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. near Southwest 87th Avenue, south of Old Cutler Road.

The victim, driving a Chevy Suburban through a roundabout, was nearly struck by Hernandez, who was driving a Mercedes. As per Local 10, Hernandez then overtook the Suburban, stopped abruptly in the road, approached the passenger-side window, and punched the driver multiple times.

Hernandez tried to flee after the victim stated they were calling the police, prompting a brief pursuit before officers intervened. Upon his apprehension, Hernandez made spontaneous admissions about his actions.

The victim, who sustained multiple blows, told deputies that his apologies be conveyed to Hernandez, explaining that his own behavior was out of the ordinary and that he had been “scared,” according to Local 10 News. Hernandez was arrested and charged with one count of burglary with assault or battery. He was held on a $7,500 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center following the incident.
