According to ABC7 Chicago, the shooting happened at about 5:50 a.m. in the 1700-block of West Albion Avenue, where the victim was struck in the throat. The station reports the 26-year-old was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition and that the shooter ran off. It was not immediately known how many people were involved, ABC7 said.
Rogers Park's Recent Violence
This latest incident adds to a troubling run of violent episodes in Rogers Park in recent years. In 2025, two men were injured in an overnight shooting near Loyola University's Chicago campus. ABC7 Chicago quoted police saying "Nobody is in custody" as investigators continued to search for leads.
