Stony Island safety concerns
Stony Island Avenue has seen more than its share of serious wrecks in recent months, including crashes that sent vehicles into bus shelters and storefronts along the busy corridor. In one recent case, a car plowed into a bus shelter in Calumet Heights, killing a pedestrian and injuring others, as reported by FOX 32 Chicago.
Investigators from the Major Accidents Investigation Unit continue to examine the scene and have not released further details about contributing factors, according to CBS Chicago. Hoodline will update this story as authorities release additional information.
