
A 28-year-old is in critical condition after a shooting in a Woodlawn alley on Sunday, when someone in a passing white vehicle opened fire, then took off, according to Chicago police. The attack unfolded around 3:43 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Langley, where officers found the wounded victim and rushed them to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Police said there was no immediate word on a motive.
According to FOX 32 Chicago, the victim was shot in the right hip and listed in critical condition at UChicago Medicine. The outlet reported that, as of the initial briefing, Area One detectives were handling the investigation and no arrests had been made.

The shooting comes on the heels of several other incidents in Woodlawn. Earlier this month, a 31-year-old woman was killed in a deadly attack on the same block of South Langley, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
