The attack unfolded around 3:43 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Langley, where officers found the wounded victim and rushed them to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Police said there was no immediate word on a motive.
According to FOX 32 Chicago, the victim was shot in the right hip and listed in critical condition at UChicago Medicine. The outlet reported that, as of the initial briefing, Area One detectives were handling the investigation and no arrests had been made.
