A rollover car crash in Everett yesterday morning left multiple homes damaged and more than ten people displaced. According to a report by WCVB, the incident involved a white sedan which, after hitting a speed bump on Glendale Street, spun out of control, jumped the curb and struck several buildings. The driver, ejected from the vehicle, was quick to recover and remained at the scene until cited by the police.
The dramatic events were captured on a Ring camera video showing the car as it moved to uncontrollably strike a street sign and the corner of a home, scattering debris and briefly sending sparks into the air upon colliding with the home's meter. The accident took place around 7:30 a.m., resulting in power outages and structural damage that led inspectional services to deem some homes unsafe for habitation.
Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported, a detail that has surprised and relieved local residents. "I can’t believe someone survived it. The guy jumped out of the car as it finalized its movement across the street," Perush Gernug, whose home was impacted, told WCVB. Nonetheless, homes hit by the vehicle suffered significant enough damage to require emergency interventions, with residents finding temporary housing as repairs commenced.
Neighbor Eliza Brennan-Pratt described the crash's moment to Boston 25 News as a "big shock." She recounted, "There’s this loud boom," and "I opened the curtain and looked outside and saw the car up on the neighbor’s yard facing the wrong direction, and there was debris all over the street."
