
A morning blaze on Beckett Street in San Francisco has left one person hospitalized with burn injuries and another displaced from their home. The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) reported the fire at 5:53 AM on the 100 block of Beckett Street, near the intersection with Jackson. The efforts to battle the fire were initially hampered by a language barrier during the 911 call, but firefighters were undaunted in their mission to bring the situation under control, eventually extinguishing the flames and locating three victims.
The social media update from the San Francisco Fire Department detailed that units from the Chinatown area were the first responders to the scene. One person was displaced as a result of the fire and is currently receiving support from the community and local aid organizations.
The SFFD Investigation team has arrived on site to determine the cause of the fire, and it remains an active scene as of this reporting. The individual sent to the hospital is being treated for burn injuries, the severity of which has not been disclosed.
