Responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle, officers were surprised to find themselves halting an actual burglary at Kelsey's, a business nestled on the 51 block of S. The theft, which occurred at approximately 3:36 a.m., involved a group of suspects who managed to quickly snatch merchandise before law enforcement intervened.
The arrival of the police prompted two vehicles to hastily depart from the crime scene, initiating a pursuit that ended with one car being cornered at Hinsdale Avenue and Village Place. Following the stop, officers captured four suspects—three on the spot and one later in the morning—trying to flee on foot.
