According to Arizona's Family, officers discovered the victim when they arrived on scene and called in paramedics, who transported him in critical condition. Reporter Brian Petersheim Jr. noted that detectives remained at the intersection processing evidence as the investigation got underway.

Area Has Seen Violence Before

The blocks around Hazelwood Street have not been strangers to gun violence. Arizona's Family previously reported on a separate Jan. 2024 shooting near 27th Avenue and Hazelwood that eventually led to an arrest, highlighting a troubling pattern in parts of the neighborhood.

This is a developing story. We will update this post when police release more information about the victim's condition or identify any potential suspects.
