Law enforcement in unincorporated Boca Raton has classified a death at a residence as a homicide. During a welfare check last Friday, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office found a deceased person at a home on the 6000 block of Golf Vista Way, as per WFLX.
Investigations confirmed that the individual was a homicide victim, as stated by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office two days later. The suspect, who was known to the victim, was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a separate location. A PBSO spokesperson said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The identities of those involved have not been officially released. A neighbor, Jennifer Mackey, told WPBF that the victim and the suspect were father and son. Mackey added that she had known the father for many years but did not know the son, according to WPBF.
Law enforcement secured the area, restricting access to residents with identification. Officers, including a crime scene unit, remained on site as the investigation continued into the morning. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office confirms that the investigation is ongoing.
