A 33-year-old man from Hurricane, Utah, has been handed a stern sentence for his crimes involving child sexual exploitation. Austin Riley Jensen will serve 180 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Utah declared. Following his incarceration, Jensen will also be subject to a lifetime of supervised release.
The sentence, doled out by U.S. District Court Judge Ann Marie McIff Allen, arrives in the wake of Jensen's August 25, 2025, admission to the production and receipt of child pornography. Investigations unearthed incriminating evidence in the form of communications between Jensen and an associate on federal supervised release in Las Vegas, with exchanges spanning from October 2022 to December 2022. These showed not just images of child sexual abuse material, but also conversations detailing the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old victim.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Jensen coerced the minor into engaging in sexually explicit conduct, which he recorded. Law enforcement, executing a federal search warrant at Jensen's residence, led to the seizure of electronic devices that stored multiple images of child sexual abuse material.
"The safety of our community, especially child victims, is a priority of this administration and my office," said U.S. Attorney Melissa Holyoak of the District of Utah. Jensen's actions have not gone unpunished, and the collaborative force of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement has ensured that a rapacious predator has been brought to justice. "Anyone who preys on the most vulnerable among us will be investigated by our partners and aggressively prosecuted," Holyoak stated, as per the U.S. Department of Justice.
