An office assistant at a Layton junior high school found herself on the wrong side of the law after being accused of unlawful conduct with a minor. Hali Ann Lunt, 44, was arrested and booked into Davis County Jail on suspicion of inappropriate interactions with a 17-year-old boy. However, she has since been released from custody, reported KSL.

Allegations surfaced after the teenager spoke to a forensics team at the Davis County Child Justice Center on December 16, revealing that Lunt had kissed him on several occasions, "The victim described the kissing as intentional, and occurring in a manner that was not part of normal familial or social affection," per a police booking affidavit. The details extended to the locations where the incidents occurred, which were further substantiated by witness statements, as documented by KUTV.

Following the revelations, Lunt partook in an investigative interview on December 17, where she freely answered questions and allegedly "admitted to kissing the victim" while conceding her awareness of his age. Lunt's "statements were consistent with the victim's disclosure regarding the nature of the contact and the circumstances under which it occurred," KUTV further explained based on the booking affidavit.

While the specifics of the relationship between Lunt and the teenager have not been publicly disclosed, the Davis School District has since placed Lunt on administrative leave, specifically noting that Lunt's behavior "is not affiliated with the Davis School District." The district's appreciation for the "ongoing working relationship with law enforcement" was highlighted in this context, according to ABC4.
