Following a meticulous investigation by the Boston Police Department, a suspect has been taken into custody in relation to a shooting that took place on Monday. According to the official Boston Police Department news release, officers reacted to a call that led them to 95 Brook Avenue in Dorchester, where they discovered a 40-year-old male victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The subsequent investigation, as reported by NBC Boston and shared on Hoodline, allowed officers to quickly piece together the events that unfolded that evening. It was estimated that around 8:30 p.m., after the shooting occurred, the suspect fled in a vehicle to eventually be involved in a car crash at the intersection of Folsom Street and Harlow Street in Dorchester. The suspect, however, was able to initially evade capture by fleeing the vehicle crash site on foot.
Over the following 48 hours, District B-2 detectives undertook an extensive investigation which led to the issuance of an arrest warrant. This intense detective work concluded with the arrest of 45-year-old Tyrone Williams from Manchester, New Hampshire. Williams was apprehended yesterday by officers and detectives assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force at an address on Sargent Street in Dorchester without further incident.
Williams now faces a slate of charges, including "Assault and battery, attempt with firearm" and "Firearm, carry without license, second offense," among others, as stated in the Boston Police Department's news release. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
