Farmer previously served six years as Director of Entrepreneurship and Information Services at Partnership Gwinnett before joining Gwinnett County government in 2017. His work has included initiatives such as small business education centers, as well as projects focused on redevelopment and building partnerships between government and external organizations.

Farmer’s responsibilities will now include projects in Deerfield, a key economic area in Milton. Community members contributed to the area’s planning through the Destination Deerfield Urban Design Manual. According to the city announcement, Farmer’s experience will support Deerfield’s development, with proposals currently under consideration to enhance the area for both residents and visitors.
