Memphis residents will not have waste or recycling collection on Wednesday, as the city’s Solid Waste Division suspended services due to treacherous road conditions from recent winter weather, out of concern for both crew and public safety. The cancellation follows service suspensions on Monday and Tuesday, and collection will resume once road conditions are safe for operations, according to the City of Memphis.
Residents are advised to place their carts at the curb on their usual collection day and leave them there until pickup is completed, as the city works to resume delayed services. The City of Memphis stated, "We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore services safely and efficiently."
For updates on when regular service will resume, the city directs residents to the Curbside Collection app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app provides real-time notifications and allows residents to track waste collection as the Solid Waste Division recovers from weather-related disruptions, as reported by the City of Memphis.
