At the Annual Be a Voice Gala, organized by Voices for Children Foundation, Commissioner Lopez received the "Be a Voice Award." This award is given to individuals who show outstanding commitment to the lives of children in foster care, making sure they have the necessary resources and support to succeed.
Acknowledging her efforts in securing funding and advocating for policies that protect foster children, Commissioner Lopez has been a pillar in the community, as reported by Miami-Dade County's official release. "Receiving the “Be a Voice Award” is a true honor," Commissioner Lopez expressed gratitude, advocating for the youth and families that support them by strengthening the very systems designed to help children feel valued and optimistic about their future.
