PortMiami will begin construction on the new Cruise Terminal G with a groundbreaking scheduled for January 8. According to the Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, representatives from Royal Caribbean Group, and the construction firm Lemartec-NV2A JV are expected to attend the event.
Cruise Terminal G is planned as a LEED-certified facility designed to accommodate cruise ships carrying up to 7,000 passengers. The project includes a multi-level parking garage and a ground-level intermodal transportation hub. Intended for use by Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea, the terminal is expected to increase Miami’s cruise capacity. The facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 and is designed to improve passenger processing and operational efficiency for cruise operators.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks a partnership among Miami-Dade County, PortMiami, and Royal Caribbean Group. The event is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 1103 N. Cruise Blvd., Miami, FL 33132. Attendees are expected to include Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County COO Jimmy Morales, PortMiami Director and CEO Hydi Webb, and representatives from Royal Caribbean Group and the Lemartec-NV2A JV.
The project is part of PortMiami’s broader development initiatives. Reports indicate that the new terminal is intended to accommodate larger cruise ships and is expected to support economic activity and tourism in the region.
