Miami will host the 49th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on Monday, with Chairwoman Christine King serving as one of the Grand Marshals. The parade will honor Dr. King’s life and legacy as it moves through Liberty City.
According to the City of Miami, Chairwoman King and staff from District 5 will participate, wearing red t-shirts, in line with this year’s theme, “Mentoring the Dream,” which focuses on guiding youth and developing community leaders.
Chairwoman King will join fellow Grand Marshals State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, and community leader Cuthbert ‘Broadway’ Harewood Jr.
The parade will start at NW 7th Avenue and NW 54th Street, proceed east to NW 32nd Avenue, and conclude near the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park. Media can contact Jessica Wade Pfeffer at [email protected] to arrange interviews with Chairwoman King.
