The City of Milwaukee is hiring high school sophomores and juniors interested in urban forestry for its Youth Arborist Apprenticeship starting in summer 2026. This opportunity is for students who will be juniors or seniors in Fall 2026, according to the City of Milwaukee Department of Employee Relations Facebook post.
Participants will take part in hands-on forestry work, including planting, maintaining, and removing trees in city green spaces and at the city nursery. Apprentices will also learn basic tree climbing techniques as an introduction to a career in forestry, as per the City of Milwaukee Department of Employee Relations.
Youth Arborist Apprentices work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. More details are available at milwaukee.gov/JOBS, and applicants are encouraged to share this opportunity with others.
