In a recent update that has brought a sigh of relief, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced on social media that 84-year-old Bobby Watson, who was reported missing, has been found safe in Camden. The alert, which initially galvanized the community to assist in locating the elderly resident, was issued after Watson had not been seen since January 6.
According to the TBI's Facebook post, Watson was found after their efforts to spread the word through the #TNSilverAlert were successful. Standing 5’10” and weighing 205 lbs, Watson's distinct gray hair and hazel eyes were among the details shared with the public to aid in his identification. Authorities had believed he may be traveling in a 2007 white Chevrolet Impala with TN tag 756BBNP, and they had provided a picture of a similar vehicle to better visualize his potential mode of transport.
The initial plea for public assistance detailed Bobby Watson's physical description and his last known whereabouts. It also provided essential contact information urging anyone who spotted him to call the Benton County Sheriff's Office or the TBI directly. In addition to expressing their gratitude, the TBI also encouraged the public to utilize resources such as the TBI Find App for more information on the Silver Alert program.
