Murfreesboro, TN's local police department has initiated a proactive approach to women's safety by offering a no-cost training designed to empower and educate. In response to concerns regarding female safety and preparedness, the Murfreesboro Police Department announced a series of self-defense training sessions for women. The training, known as the R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) The Women's Self-Defense Course is slated for this February, providing participants with a comprehensive 12-hour program meant to arm them with self-defense knowledge and skills, according to the Murfreesboro TN Police Department.
Interested individuals are encouraged to register quickly, as class size is limited to 20 participants. The course takes place on four consecutive Tuesdays in February—3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th—from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. As a progressive training program, attendees must attend all sessions to fully benefit from the material. Classes will be held at the Murfreesboro Police Department headquarters, 1004 N. Highland Ave.
