A routine traffic stop initiated by Mt. Juliet Police on Lebanon Road for a window tint violation spiraled into an arrest of a wanted Nashville man and the confiscation of narcotics. During the incident, the driver showed resistance and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by officers, according to a social media post from the department.

Upon the man's detention, police discovered not only a wad of cash but also cocaine and fentanyl in his possession. A second individual, a passenger in the vehicle, was also found in possession of various drugs, ranging from cocaine to marijuana, along with several empty bags commonly associated with marijuana distribution. In addition, this individual was already sought for probation violation in Rutherford County, tied to previous drug-related crimes.

The driver, who is 30 years old and has a history of similar offenses dating back to a 2021 case, now faces a slew of charges including Driving Without a License, Resisting Arrest, Evading Arrest, and the Possession of Cocaine and Fentanyl with the intent to resale. His record is compounded by the current probation for past infractions.

His fellow passenger, a 29-year-old, will face charges for Simple Possession of Marijuana, Simple Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, along with his outstanding warrant. The Mt. Juliet Police Department expressed their commitment to vigilant policing to curb the influx of crime and maintain the community's safety, "We remain committed to preventing crime from taking root in our community and ensuring Mt. Juliet remains one of the safest cities in Tennessee," the department stated in a comment on the arrest.
