A man was shot in the leg at a motel off Trinity Lane in North Nashville, and the gunman was gone before officers arrived. Metro Nashville Police are still searching for the shooter after the attack at America's Best Value Inn Nashville Downtown, located on Brick Church Pike.
The victim was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, though his condition has not been released, according to WKRN News 2. The outlet reports that no additional information was immediately available, and it is not clear whether the victim was a registered guest or a visitor to the property. The motel sits near the intersection of Interstate 65 and West Trinity Lane, according to property listings for the address.
A Corridor Already Under Federal Scrutiny
The shooting lands in a stretch of North Nashville that federal and local authorities have already singled out for its gun violence problem. Just weeks ago, officials announced the results of Operation Last Call, which designated the Brick Church Pike–Trinity Lane corridor as one of four high-priority target zones in the city based on three years of 911 shots-fired calls, violent crime statistics and ballistic evidence, per the U.S. Department of Justice. Hoodline previously reported that the same sweep led to 44 arrests and machine-gun switches across the city.
This particular motel has a documented history of violence. In April 2020, Metro Nashville Police charged a 56-year-old man with criminal homicide after a 37-year-old man was fatally shot in the parking lot of America's Best Value Inn, according to a report from STL.News. Federal court records also show that agents executed a search warrant targeting Room 208 of the same motel in July 2021 as part of a U.S. Attorney's Office investigation, according to filings in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
Pattern Of Gunfire Along Brick Church Pike
The corridor has repeatedly drawn police attention for shootings tied to motel parking lots. In September 2022, officers arrested a 17-year-old on reckless endangerment and weapon possession charges stemming from a July 2022 exchange of gunfire in the parking lot of a Brick Church Pike motel, per the Metro Nashville Police Department. And in April 2022, undercover TITANS detectives rearrested a suspect accused of shooting three teenagers the previous year in a motel parking lot on the same street, after catching him handling an AR-style rifle.
The pattern has also produced fatal outcomes and convictions. In July, a Davidson County jury convicted a man of reckless homicide and felony weapon possession stemming from a December 2023 dispute along the Brick Church Pike corridor that ended in a fatal shooting, according to the Office of District Attorney General Glenn R. Funk. Investigators in non-fatal shootings like this one often rely on the department's Specialized Investigations Division, which uses National Integrated Ballistic Information Network testing to match recovered shell casings to other open cases across Davidson County.
Investigation Continues
No arrests had been announced as of Tuesday, and the identity and motive of the shooter remain unknown. It is also unclear whether motel surveillance footage captured the suspect's vehicle or flight path. Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Nashville Police.

The case adds to a growing list of parking-lot shootings along Brick Church Pike that have drawn scrutiny even as federal and local agencies escalate enforcement in the area.
