The National Weather Service in Nashville issued a Dense Fog Advisory early Wednesday for parts of Middle Tennessee, citing visibility reduced to between one-quarter and one-half mile. The advisory includes Stewart, Montgomery, and Davidson counties, as well as Nashville, and remains in effect until 9:00 a.m. CST.
Commuters are urged to use caution, as the National Weather Service advises slowing down, using low-beam headlights, and leaving extra distance between vehicles due to hazardous driving conditions caused by dense fog. The fog is expected to lift later this morning, followed by mostly sunny skies, calm winds, and highs near 64 degrees.
Increasing clouds are expected tonight with a low around 47 and light east-southeast winds near 5 mph. Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 71 and gusts up to 25 mph. A 50 percent chance of showers arrives Thursday night after midnight, with overcast skies and a low around 64.
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected Friday, with a high near 70 and south-southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. Rain chances increase to 90 percent and continue into Friday night. Rain chances decrease Saturday afternoon to around 50 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 64.
Sunday will be sunny with a high near 42 and west-northwest winds gusting up to 20 mph. Looking ahead, the week will feature mostly sunny skies, clear nights, and gradually warming daytime temperatures climbing from the mid-40s into the low 50s.
