After an incident in Crescent City, the New Orleans Saints welcomed officers from the New Orleans Police Department who had recently prevented a potential situation. The officers attended the team’s final practice of the season at the training facility, according to a social media post by the department.
The event involved more than observing the Saints’ walk-through practice. Officers were invited to the Saints training facility, watched the final walk-through practice, met the players, and received special Saints jerseys, the New Orleans Police Department said.
The officers were recognized by team owner Gayle Benson for their efforts, in addition to the usual focus on athletic performance. The jerseys given to the officers symbolized both the team’s acknowledgment and the community’s support for their service.
