
The Oklahoma City Police Department made a significant dent in local crime this holiday season with Operation Grinch. A series of thefts throughout the community led to a concentrated investigation by the Hefner CRIME Unit, culminating in multiple arrests and the execution of various search warrants associated with stolen property and illegal drug operations, according to a Facebook post from the Oklahoma City Police Department.
The operation was a cross-sectional effort, involving the Violent Crime Apprehension Team, Violent Crime Investigations, Street Narcotics, OKCPD CRIME Units, and patrol officers, they all worked in concert to dismantle an organized theft ring, a sting that also uncovered firearms, narcotics, and a considerable sum of cash. A substantial number of stolen items were recovered during the sting, notable items including appliances, tools, and other high-value property, with many already restored to their legitimate owners, this news was shared by the Oklahoma City Police Department.
