A shooting outside La Lunita Cafeteria in Hialeah yesterday morning has left one person injured and transported to the hospital via air, Hialeah police officials confirmed; the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the cafe situated at 2200 W. Eighth Court.
The victim, an adult, was reported to have been shot and was promptly airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. An officer speaking on the condition of anonymity shared details to Local 10 News about the ongoing search for the shooter, who is still at large.
Frequenters of the area expressed shock and concern to NBC 6 Miami, with some saying the area is known for being unsafe and having had past incidents, yet the boldness of a broad daylight shooting surprised them.
