A tragic incident unfolded on a stretch of I-70 last Friday, when a 32-year-old woman identified as Kasha Guild of Redmond, Utah, died following a collision. According to a report from the Utah Department of Public Safety, Guild was driving a red 2004 Acura MDX, which allegedly slowed in the #1 lane with its hazard lights on before being rear-ended by a Chevrolet 3500.
The accident occurred near milepost 46, around 9:45 am. A bystander noted that after overtaking the Acura, a white 2022 Chevrolet 3500, towing a flatbed trailer, collided with the Acura MDX. The force of the impact sent both vehicles careening off the road and into the median. The aftermath was devastating, as Guild was ejected from her vehicle, which was soon consumed by flames. Despite emergency responders' attempts at life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital transport.
