The San Francisco Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a person of interest tied to an assault that left a 65-year-old man severely injured. The incident, which occurred on December 7, 2025, involved the suspect kicking the victim's dog, leading to an altercation that resulted in life-threatening injuries to the victim, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
A response was prompted when SFPD officers and paramedics swiftly attended the scene at the intersection of Post and Leavenworth streets after the assault was reported around 3:32 PM. The victim, who remains unidentified, was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care. In a bewildering act of cruelty, the assailant's interaction with the victim escalated quickly when they kicked the victim's dog, which caused the dog to flee in panic. Luckily, officers later located the pet a few days after the incident.
The inquiry into the assault is being spearheaded by the SFPD's Strategic Investigation Unit (SIU) and remains vigorous and ongoing.
