U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) has named Daniel Keylin as his new Chief of Staff, replacing Shil B. Patel, who is leaving for the private sector. The official announcement, made yesterday, notes that Keylin has been part of Tillis’s team since the 2014 campaign and previously served as Senior Advisor.
Senator Tillis described Keylin as a long-time advisor, noting his involvement in Tillis’s 2014 and 2020 campaigns and his experience with legislative policy and communications in the Senate. Tillis added that Keylin is well-positioned to support the ongoing agenda for North Carolina.
He acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Chief of Staff Shil B. Patel, noting his experience in banking and macroeconomic policy. Patel, who has worked with Senator David Perdue, the Federal Reserve, and Northern Trust Corporation, has held various roles on Tillis’s team over the past nine years. He will now serve as President of Ranger Global, an investment firm based in Los Angeles led by Alexander von Furstenberg.
Senator Tillis praised Patel’s leadership and expertise in banking and macroeconomic policy, noting his ability to navigate the intersection of policy and politics. Tillis also acknowledged Patel’s friendship and indicated he looks forward to seeing his future work in policy and politics.
