A multi-vehicle crash, including a large tractor-trailer, on State Road 84 in Broward County injured six people and caused major traffic delays. The accident occurred eastbound near Interstate 95 around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Local 10 News.
The collision also involved a crane truck and two pickup trucks. Officials reported that no one sustained life-threatening injuries. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue teams responded to the scene to assist and provide medical attention, with four people hospitalized for minor injuries, as per WSVN.
Authorities worked to contain a diesel fuel leak from the damaged tractor-trailer, with cleanup crews managing the spilled fuel. Aerial footage from 7Skyforce showed the extent of the operation, including fuel dripping from the vehicle’s side. City of Fort Lauderdale issued a traffic advisory warning drivers of significant delays in the area.
The affected section of State Road 84 was reopened later Tuesday night, allowing traffic to return to normal. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. As of late Tuesday evening, traffic along SR 84 had resumed.
